I support veterans because I am one myself. This section is to help veterans taking the first step into starting their VA disability and VA healthcare. There is so many hidden benefits for veterans right in our faces. We just need to know where to look and what questions to ask.

When people talk about veteran's disability the first thing you may think about is missing limbs, disfigured bodies, and the worst. I'm here to say if your a veteran you are most likely entitled to benefits. In the military most of us were maxed out physically and mentally. A lot of us especially in the offshore industry don't realize our mentality because a lot of offshore personnel are ex-military. Most of us could not work in an average office setting. We'd probably make half of the staff cry just by discussing the weather or the honey butter rolls at a restaurant. Anyway, let's get to it. I'll name a couple of the most basic disabilities that vets qualify for:

  1. Tinnitus: A constant ringing, buzzing, or droning in the ears

  2. Hearing loss: A common service-connected disability

  3. Limited knee mobility and pain: A common claim with a high success rate

  4. Sciatica: Pain that radiates along the sciatic nerve

  5. Cervical strain: Also known as back pain

  6. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD): A common claim

  7. Limited arm mobility and pain: A common claim

  8. Limited ankle mobility and pain: A common claim

  9. Migraines: Also known as headaches

  10. Scar tissue: A common claim

These are just a couple claims you can start off with. Once you start diving into VA claims adventure you start finding out a lot more. You start Googling and YouTubing these new found topics. Don't forget to visit VA.gov in the process. You'll even learn how they stack one claim onto another. Let's just say the knee bone is connected to the thigh bone, the thigh bone is connected to the backbone, the backbone is connected to the mental stress bone and so and so forth. I have created a document in Google docs for veterans to get started in the process. Another thing you never hear about is the benefits once your rated. Even with 10% disability, let's just say you have tinnitus - ringing in your ears. Now you have access to the VA healthcare system. You go to the ER with a broken arm and walk out with no bill. Just call the VA hotline within 72 hours and it's covered. Go to an Urgent care and your covered. Plus the urgent cares calls the VA for you. Stop waiting and call your local VSO now.

The VA disability claims process should be enough to get you started but if you need a lil more motivation I have a private veterans group online with people who have received their benefits, vets in the process, and vets still on the fence about it.
