Do you remember the first vessel or installation you were on when you started in the ROV industry and what's the craziest thing that happened while you were there?

Names have been changed to protect the people in the story:

It all started with rough weather on the C-Express. We were in the GOM. Bam! We lost the sub. Everyone goes into emergency recovery mode. You know, paperwork, meetings. The whole shabang. We go to start the FRC and it won't start. Phil, one of our supervisors dipped his finger in the gas tank and started shouting "It's bad gas, it's bad gas, it's bad gas!!! By now the sub had floated to the surface and the vessel was getting into position along side of it so we could secure it. Remember we were in rough seas. By now the seas were about 8 to 10 footers. Once the vessel got within 10' of the bobbing sub we notice something out of the ordinary, the recovery sling had like 10 zipties securing it which made it impossible to pull out the sling to attach the stinger and recover the sub. This is when the story gets interesting. Our newly appointed supervisor Codename Fighter Twig saw the only way to get the recovery sling loose was to be lowered onto the ROV and cut it loose. We had another modified toolbox talk to make sure everyone knew their roles. Warning: Never ever do this. You would be fired on the spot soon as the office would find out.

Fighter Twig put on a PFD and attached a tagline. He climbed down the Jacob's ladder onto the ROV and began riding like a rodeo. While removing the zipties one at a time the sub bobbed under the water submerging Fighter Twig chest deep in saltwater. As he continued removing the zipties we lowered the stinger recovery hook over Twig. Soon as he got the recovery sling loose we lowered the hook and he attack everything then climbed safely back onto the vessel. I don't know if you ever recovered a ROV with a stinger in rough seas but this thing was swinging all over the place. Once the sub landed on deck it was strapped down and repairs began.

What kind of stories do y'all have?
